Queen Elizabeth Hall

On Wednesday 11th July 2012 Counterpoint performed as part of a large production under the Big Dance 2012 umbrella.  Dancing Voices was produced jointly by East London Dance and Southbank Centre with the choreography directed and choreographed by Natasha Gilmore and music from Voicelab (an amazing forty strong choir) who sang a diverse arrangement of songs from Nat King Cole’s Nature Boy to Florence and the Machine’s Dog Days are Over.

One of the aims of Big Dance was to re-establish dance as a popular recreational activity and this celebration of personal and social history, with nine interlinking dance narrations, was a big success!  The theatre was sold-out and the post performance social dance, with tea and biscuits, was absolutely chocka!

Counterpoint Dance Company had their feature about two thirds of the way through with a version of The Special’s Ghost Town. The video above gives you a great idea of what it was like to be there!
